pageheader_ipo_v3The 2009 Boylepoker International Poker Open will be held at the Regency Airport Hotel, Dublin 9, from October 16th – 18th.

In 2007 the IPO smashed the record for the largest field in Europe with 1.078 runners, then in 2008 with the backing of Boylepoker.com the tournament was capped at 1,300 and sold out a month before the event.

Boylepoker.com will be adding $25,000 to the estimated prize pool of $300,000 and the outright winner can expect to take home around $50,000 of that.

This year players will have a starting stack of 8,000 chips, but can increase this to 10,000 by playing at Boylepoker.com. Earn 250 VIP points in August to get an extra 1,000 chips and 250 VIP points in September for another 1,000.

There will be a range of side events with low buy-ins held over the course of the three day event including Hold’em, PLO and Round of each (Hold’em and PLO).

In attendance last year were a host of big name poker players such our very own Marty Smyth and Padraig Parkinson, Neil Channing, Jesse May, ‘Mad’ Marty Wilson, Andy Black and Ian Frazer to name but a few. You can expect a similar showing this year as well as a few surprise guests.

To celebrate the launch of the International Poker Open 2009 Boylepoker.com are adding an IPO ticket worth $250 to our nightly tournaments, every night this week until Friday! The winner of each of the tournaments will win the ticket on top of their prize money.

To sweeten the deal even more, the winner of the Friday night Deepstack tournament will win a VIP package to the IPO worth $1,000. The lucky player will be rewarded with an IPO ticket, two nights’ accommodation in the Regency Hotel and $300 towards flights and spending.
