This week The Poker Show sees some of the most successful and outspoken players take to the airwaves while Marty Smyth, Annette Obrestad, and J.C. Tran shows are archived
The Poker Show, has secured some of the most controversial and opinionated players in the game. Presenters Jesse May and Padraig Parkinson chat to Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott, and Tony G who are scheduled to appear on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday between 8 and 11 p.m. respectively.
Matusow, who has just published his autobiography Check-Raising the Devil, will be discussing the book, the writing process, and the problems he has faced in life while Ulliott will cover his upcoming appearance at the Oxford Union and his beef with the decision to drop rebuys at the World Series of Poker. Tony G will discuss his recent High Roller Championship final table in Monte Carlo.
Last week’s shows have been archived in full at http://www.boylesports.com/sections/poker/d.asp?show=ThePokerShow_Archives and feature Annette Obrestad, Marty Smyth, Joe Beevers, and J.C Tran. Listeners who would like to get a quick fix can catch individual interviews and segments of the show at http://thepokershowlive.com/listenagain.htm
Perhaps unsurprisingly the most popular downloads from the show so far have been the ones where Tom “Durrrr” Dwan and Luke “_FullFlush1_” Schwartz engage in a battle of egos and trash talk.
Guests on the show so far read like a who’s who of poker with Annette Obrestad, J.C. Tran, Marty Smyth, Neil Channing, Vicky Coren, Andrew Feldman, Dan Harrington, Roland De Wolfe, Phil Hellmuth, Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Rory Liffey, Liam Flood, ‘Mad’ Marty Wilson, Kara Scott, Donnacha O’Dea, Barny Boatman, and John Duthie.
The all-new radio show sees the experienced broadcast team on air each Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at www.thepokershowlive.com where they will discuss, debate, and decipher the technicolour world of live and online poker with a series of special guests, contributors, and phone-in questions and commentary from members of the poker playing public.
Poker players are actively encouraged to get involved in each show — if only to be in with a shot of winning some of the cash the show gives away each night. Players can call the show directly on 0208 123 7820, add ThePokerShow to Skype or, for MSN users: thepokershow@live.co.uk. The presenters can then chat to participants before or during the show, live on air.
Listeners can also email comments or contact details to chat@thepokershowlive.com.
