After Viktor Manfred Kåvenstam was eliminated at 4th place, the final three players made a deal according to their chip stacks, deciding to play for a small amount of money, and the EMOP trophy.
Maciej Swicarz then knocked out Kristian Eriksson and got heads-up with Wigg. Swicarz dominated the table for a short period but in the end Wigg managed to take control. Tonight on BBC 2 on UK television, poker player, Jeraint “JJ” Hazan appeared on the hit TV show Dragon’s Den.
The format of the show sees entrepreneurs put a three minute pitch to five investors, known as The Dragons. The Dragons then decide whether or not the investment opportunity is worthwhile, often grilling the budding entrepreneurs to the point of embarrassment with sometimes surprising and comical results.
Very few entrepreneurs receive investment, so it was surprising to see a poker player on the show asking the Dragons to take such a huge gamble.
Hazan asked for an investment of £65,000 in return for 40% of his tournament winnings over a period of one year. “I plan to play 33 tournaments thus minimizing the risk and increasing the chances of success”
