International Poker Open schedule announced.

pageheader_ipo_v3The 2009 Boylepoker International Poker Open will be held at the Regency Airport Hotel, Dublin 9, from October 16th – 18th.

In 2007 the IPO smashed the record for the largest field in Europe with 1.078 runners, then in 2008 with the backing of Boylepoker.com the tournament was capped at 1,300 and sold out a month before the event.

Boylepoker.com will be adding $25,000 to the estimated prize pool of $300,000 and the outright winner can expect to take home around $50,000 of that.

This year players will have a starting stack of 8,000 chips, but can increase this to 10,000 by playing at Boylepoker.com. Earn 250 VIP points in August to get an extra 1,000 chips and 250 VIP points in September for another 1,000.

This weekend, presenters Jesse May and Matt Broughton will catch up with a host of British hopefuls including recent pot-limit hold’em bracelet winner John Kabbaj, Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott, Ian Frazer, serial staker Neil Channing, and comedian and ‘triple crown’ victor Roland De Wolfe.

Flying the Irish flag is co-presenter Padraig Parkinson, who recently finished 14th in the pot-limit Omaha world championship. He makes his daily call to the show with all the news and gossip from the Rio hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Fellow countryman John O’Shea will also drop in for a chat.

Tuesday sees the return of the weekly Poker Show Live turbo bounty tournament on Boylepoker.com which has $250 added, with guests, presenters and listeners vying for supremacy in this password-only tournament. Last week the winner of the turbo tournament was “Faughballagh” who is none other than Boylepoker pro and World Series of Poker main event finalist Scott Gray.

To enter simply fill out the form at Boylesports.com/poker, choosing the five poker players you think will make the final tables and win bracelets at this year’s WSOP. Entrants get 30 points if one of their players’ wins a bracelet and 10 points if one of their picks makes a final table finish.

The entrants with the most points at the end of the series could win a European Poker Tour, Grosvenor UK Poker Tour or Boylepoker.com International Poker Open live event package.

The prizes are:

• 1st place: will receive a £1,000 GUKPT main event package, which includes travel and accommodation expenses.
